Brandon Voss Is Ready to Win NYE

If New Year’s Eve is a Netflix-and-chill kind of holiday for you, fair enough. If going out and doing it up proper is you plan, Brandon Voss is your man.

The reliably over-the-top party producer has planned a swanky, high-concept New Year’s Eve party for New York’s gay revelers in the swanky, high-class Villard Mansion. Built in 1884 for a railroad tycoon, the Gilded Age mansion is now operated as the New York Palace Hotel (455 Madison Ave.), where President Obama stayed during a September visit to NYC.

Voss Events will use five of the mansion’s rooms to create a narrative party. The hotel’s master chef will prepare a three-course seated dinner beginning at 9pm. Then, performance artist Darrell Thorne will use each space to present a tableau on Voss’s theme, “Reflections of the Future.” Guests will take in live artists, projections and costumes while Nomi Ruiz of Hercules and Love Affair provides live music and DJ W. Jeremy and male model Chris Fawcett spin disco house.

As midnight nears, all of the artists from the different tableaus will converge onto the main stage of the Madison Ballroom for the 2016 toast. A premium open bar will continue all night.

“Gay events of this caliber are rare but we have so much to celebrate and reflect upon this year,” says Voss. “Same-sex marriage was legalized in the United States, we are finally getting the attention we deserve in government and pop culture… the fact that an event like this is taking place in one of the city’s most distinguished venues: that alone is progress! We will reflect upon [these events] at ‘New Year’s Eve: Reflections Gala’ while also celebrating the promise of the New Year.”

With tickets beginning at the reasonable price point (for a one-stop event) of $175, Voss Events’ “Reflections Gala” is Metrosource‘s pick for NYC New Year’s Eve. To buy or learn more, visit
